The Royalton Punta Cana became the perfect tropical backdrop for Tiana and Prateek’s wedding and if we had to sum it up in a word, we’d say it was unforgettable.
The pictures say it all: every moment in this magical wedding was special. The looks of the families had on their faces as they watched the beautiful couple, the smile on Prateek’s face as he looked on at Tiana and Tiana’s sweet laughter showed just how much love was there. If you want your wedding to be this incredible, read on to find out the key takeaways that you can use.
Tiana and Prateek’s beautiful wedding was photographed by the amazing Photo Shop Caribe team. We love that this team was able to capture the movement and excitement in different moments throughout the wedding.
While posed shots are certainly important, getting a photography team that can be agile and quick enough to capture authentic, action-packed moments is critical especially when it comes to South Asian weddings. It helps to choose a photographer who has worked on South Asian weddings before. But it’s especially important to work with a team that can handle a South Asian wedding that was the same size that you expect yours to be as well.
We particularly love the shots that were close up of Tiana as well as Prateek that captured the finer details of their clothing and accessories. But what made these shots especially wonderful was that the team found interesting angles that helped make it feel as if you were there as you look at the images.
One of the best things about having a destination wedding is the scenery and this wedding and the photography team was able to capture precious portraits that made excellent use of the ocean views at Royalton Punta Cana. The black and white shots add extra charm and the team got wonderful close-up shots of the couple as well.
Tiana chose to wear elegant mint-green accessories with her peach bridal lehenga and this combination was chic and sophisticated. The colors complimented her makeup well and were ones that will give her a timeless look as the years pass. She opted to wear colors that were mostly neutral for her makeup so that the focus could remain on her beautiful eyes. This helps keep the makeup looking classic and natural instead of overly done up.
The mehndi design on Tiana’s hands delicately covered each of her fingers and looked just gorgeous. And we love that Prateek’s hand had Tiana’s name drawn on with a lovey design as well. While there are many trends that have come and gone when it comes to mehndi design, it all goes back to how it will tie in to everything else you’ll wear (and, of course, your personal style).
Some brides choose to have images of themselves and the groom on their hands. Others like floral designs and some choose to include scenery from places that are special to the couple. No matter the style you choose, you’ll want to choose a mehndi artist that can listen to your suggestions and also give input on how to make it come to life. Having a good rapport with your artist is also important because you will want one that will make the experience relaxing and fun for you.
Our lovely clients had both a Hindu ceremony as well as a Christian one. For the Christian ceremony, which was held right on the beach, we love that Tiana opted for a simple, long mermaid-style white dress. Many brides opt to keep their wedding dresses more simple for beach ceremonies or they choose one with lighter fabrics. This helps you stay cool and lets you move more comfortably.
As you consider your outfits for your wedding events, keep in mind the type of fabric you would like and how it will work with the weather at the destination you are considering for your wedding.
For the décor, Tiana and Prateek used tropical flowers and plants at each ceremony site includes birds of paradise. Using brighter shades of orange and red made the greenery pop and gave just enough color without taking away from the bride and groom. As you consider the floral arrangements for your wedding décor, consider using larger pieces of greenery to have a tropical vibe while keeping costs low. Also, remember that your décor has to fit your vision for your wedding.
Some brides want a wedding full of glamour and luxury. Others love to have a more minimalist approach that fits the laid-back energy of the tropics. Whichever style fits you is the one that is perfect.
For the reception, Tiana and Prateek chose to have theirs in an outdoor tent. This allows guests to enjoy the soft ocean breeze and also was right by the ceremony site so they didn’t have to travel far at all after the ceremony.
The lighted dance floor added a fun element to the reception and the soft, white draping added to the relaxing atmosphere. As you consider your wedding reception ideas, ask about both indoor and outdoor venues and see works best for your vision for your wedding.
Tiana and Prateek’s wedding events were intimate and meaningful. And, as you can see in the pictures, they allowed all of the guests to have an amazing time! Here’s to a sweet couple that created such special memories that made their wedding one that was truly beautiful.
