Ummae and Ryan celebrated their Indian destination wedding at Dreams Bahia Mita and Secrets Bahia Mita in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico with a multi-day South Asian wedding experience that blended oceanfront elegance with vibrant cultural traditions.
Their wedding week featured a dual-resort celebration across family-friendly and adults-only spaces, an oceanview mandap ceremony, themed welcome and sangeet events, and immersive design details that transformed every venue.
Ummae and Ryan transformed the coastline of Riviera Nayarit into a multi-day celebration that flowed effortlessly between Dreams Bahia Mita and the adults-only side at Secrets Bahia Mita.
By hosting events across both neighboring properties, they gave guests the best of both worlds: vibrant, family-friendly energy at Dreams and sophisticated, adults-only ambiance at Secrets.
That thoughtful balance allowed every moment—from sunlit ceremonies to late-night dancing—to feel intentional, elevated, and deeply personal, which is exactly what couples should consider when choosing a resort complex that offers multiple atmospheres in one destination.
About Dreams Bahia Mita & Secrets Bahia Mita in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico
Dreams Bahia Mita and Secrets Bahia Mita are neighboring all-inclusive resorts located along the Pacific coastline of Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, just north of Puerto Vallarta.
Both properties sit approximately 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), making them easily accessible for wedding guests traveling internationally.
Dreams Bahia Mita offers a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere, while Secrets Bahia Mita provides an elevated adults-only experience.
Couples choose this dual-resort setting because it allows them to host multi-day Indian wedding celebrations across diverse venues while accommodating both families and adult guests in one seamless destination.
One of the first steps to having a successful Indian destination wedding is to find the right location and resort. With hundreds of options available throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, it can quickly feel like an overwhelming task unless you have a pro travel agency on your side. That’s where we came in.
Our team at Indian Destination Wedding took Ummae and Ryan through our signature Resort Match Finder process which takes into account multiple factors we’ve identified across the hundreds of weddings we’ve supported that are instrumental in having an unforgettable wedding.
For instance, we didn’t just consider their budget but aligned it with the atmosphere, layout, and overall guest experience they envisioned for their wedding week. Every decision centered not just on aesthetics, but on how the celebration would feel for everyone attending.
During our process, we also considered each resort from every practical and experiential angle. Were guest rooms conveniently located near event spaces?
Would older family members or guests using wheelchairs move comfortably between venues?
How would families traveling with young children or guests with sensory sensitivities experience the environment?
Equally important, we ensured the resort could properly support a South Asian wedding of this scale. From access to authentic Indian cuisine to accommodating multi-day ceremonial needs, we confirmed that every cultural detail could be executed seamlessly and respectfully.
Then, we coordinated the travel logistics for Ummae, Ryan, and their guests, ensuring that transitions between Dreams Bahia Mita and Secrets Bahia Mita ran smoothly. From room blocks to transportation to event flow across properties, the team handled the complexities so the couple could stay present.

When couples partner with a travel concierge experienced in large-scale South Asian weddings, they eliminate stress and create space for joy.
The vision came to life under the creative direction of Dream Shaadi, who designed each event with a distinct personality while keeping the week cohesive. From Santorini-inspired blues to glowing haldi yellows to a red-drenched reception ballroom, every detail felt curated rather than repetitive.
They orchestrated meaningful touches to the wedding including a sunset cruise at Marina Riviera Nayarit at La Cruz where energetic music playing in the background as guests sipped their drinks, laughed and connected.
Their ability to transform gardens, beachfront spaces, and ballrooms into immersive environments proved that strong planning and design do more than decorate a space—they shape how guests experience each moment, which is why couples should prioritize a planning team that understands both cultural tradition and high-impact visual storytelling.

Welcome Party at Dreams Bahia Mita
The week began with a welcome night inspired by the Greek islands. Thoughtfully designed signage by Ssimhal Designs reinforced each event’s theme, from Greek-inspired welcome décor to elegant reception signage.
Guests walked through two arched blue doors featuring the couple’s initials, each door lined with individual drink holders so every guest started the evening with something refreshing in hand. Light and dark pink florals framed the entrance, echoed in centerpieces that paired blooms with tall candle columns.
Blue-and-white folk tile prints dressed the tables, glass goblets shimmered in pale blue, and palm trees framed the outdoor garden space. Ryan wore a light blue shirt with cream slacks, while Ummae stunned in a cream beaded cropped top with blue detailing and a flowing skirt.
Fire dancers closed the night, igniting cheers beneath the Riviera sky. When couples anchor their welcome party in a strong visual theme and interactive elements, they immediately signal that the wedding week will feel immersive and unforgettable.
Saptapadi Weddings captured every detail through photography that balanced grand décor shots with intimate in-between moments, while Saptapadi Films documented the movement, emotion, and energy that still photos alone cannot hold.
From the flicker of candlelight to the swirl of lehengas and the roar of applause during performances, their work ensured the week lives on beyond the destination itself. Investing in a cohesive photo and film team who already work in sync guarantees that no moment slips through the cracks and that your story unfolds seamlessly across every medium.

Ummae looked lovely in a flowing yellow skirt and crop top, while Ryan complemented her in a yellow kurta set. Behind them, cascading garlands and rich draping framed the seating area as they danced from the soft breezes from the ocean, and signature cocktails—“Golden Hour Glow” and “Sour Del Sol”—added personality to the bar.
Guests applied haldi on the couple sharing smiles and laughter and good wishes for them. At one point, one guest used it to give Ryan a mohawk hairstyle adding to the joyous energy. When guests weren’t applying haldi, they played poker nearby, and enjoyed curated food stations.
When couples add in interactive guest experiences, they create events that feel socially engaging and allow guests to have an even better time.

Guests sipped “Ja Simran, Live Your Spritz” and “Tai-ing The Knot,” visited a tarot reader, played Jenga, and relaxed on layered carpets facing the ocean. I Love My Mehndi by Nohemi Alvardo adorned hands with intricate designs that reflected both tradition and artistry.
Choosing a mehndi artist who understands scale, speed, and detail ensures guests feel included while the bride’s design remains a masterpiece in its own right.
Florals defined the emotional tone of the week. Mayte Romero Weddings and Fer Escamilla created everything from pink-accented welcome arrangements to the yellow haldi garlands to the breathtaking mandap overflowing with white, cream, and blush blooms by the ocean.
Clear mandap columns allowed the sea to remain visible while flowers cascaded above and along the aisle. Their work demonstrated that florals do more than decorate—they frame photos, influence lighting, and shape atmosphere, so couples should allocate budget intentionally to statement floral installations that elevate each space.

Baraat Procession and Oceanfront Wedding Ceremony
The baraat roared to life as Ryan arrived in a white vintage-style car, greeted by cheers, dancing, and rhythmic beats. The procession moved with contagious excitement, building anticipation for the oceanfront ceremony where Ummae walked toward a mandap framed in cascading florals.
A live painter captured the ceremony in real time, turning vows into visual art. When couples incorporate live elements—whether musicians, painters, or performers—they create layered memories that guests talk about long after the last song ends.

Beauty remained flawless through every climate shift thanks to Sumiyah of Atlanta Makeup Artist, who ensured Ummae’s looks transitioned seamlessly from vibrant pre-wedding events to her intricately beaded white ceremony lehenga and later to her red reception ensemble.
Brides who invest in an experienced destination makeup artist protect both their look and their confidence across long, emotional days.
Cultural performances added dynamic flair throughout the week, including poolside mariachi, Jalisco dancers, and Bollywood energy from Richmond Indian Dance Company.
Blending local Mexican artistry with South Asian traditions honored both the destination and the couple’s heritage, proving that destination weddings feel most powerful when they embrace their surroundings rather than replicate home.
Behind the scenes, Chris Mujica and Encore Weddings delivered flawless AV production, ensuring LED dance floors glowed, audio remained crisp, and lighting elevated every floral installation and chandelier-filled ballroom moment.
Couples often underestimate AV, but professional production protects both ambiance and guest experience from start to finish.
